Simonside Hills

An area of high, rough moorland and forest rising northwards from Harwood Forest up to the escarpment on the southern edge of the Coquet Valley. Many of the crags are to be found along this north facing escarpment, from Sandy Crags in the west to Simonside in the east. For convenience we have also included the area west of the Simonside Hills - Holystone Common and the Harbotle Hills, which contains some fine sandstone outcrops. For accommodation and tourist information for the Rothbury area visit-rothbury.co.uk has a lot of information.
Alphabetical list of crags
Crags shown in red have full guides online, either bouldering, routes or both. The star ratings relate to the best of either type. The colours represent the rocktypes. See here for details.
