Borders ![]()
The crags in this area lie on the Fell Sandstone ridge forming the eastern boundary of Millfield Plain, the dry bed of the glacial Lake Ewart, which drained through the Till gorge north of Etal when the ice retreated. There are crags along this gorge, but the rock is poor and access is impossible. The crags are very convenient for access from north of the border. Bouldering is good an all the crags, the routes ore not of such good quality.
Alphabetical list of crags Crags shown in red have full guides online, either bouldering, routes or both.
The star ratings relate to the best of either type. The colours represent the rocktypes. See here for details.
