The Cheviot Hills

These rounded grassy hills are volcamic in origin, with a granite core from a later intrusion. The few crags ar all composed of lavas and are quite unlike any other crags in the region. The only crag with many worthwhile routes is The Henhole, at the head of the College Vallye on the slopes of Cheviot. During good winters Henhole, Bizzle and Linhope Spout provide some quite reasonable winter lines, but they are usually only in condition for a couple of days at most.

Crags shown in red have full guides online, either bouldering, routes or both. The star ratings relate to the best of either type. The colours represent the rocktypes. See here for details.
