From Wooler continue on the A697 towards Coldstream, branching left about 3 kilometres from Wooler at Akeld. Continue for a further 5 kilometres to West Newton where a left turn is made to Hethpool. The road from Hethpool to Dunsdale Farm (6 kilometres) is a public right of way on foot or bike, but to take a car requires written permission from John Sale & Partners, College Valley Estate Office, Wooler (closed weekends) which should be sought in advance. An alternative is to walk over the north flank of Cheviot from the Harthope Valley.
General[edit]
Bizzle is a large crag high up on the southern slopes of Cheviot at the head of the Bizzle Burn. It's most notable feature is a large chimney, visible from afar. The crags altitude means that there are opportunities for winter routes most years.
Rock[edit]
Andesite Cheviot Volcano, Lower Devonian
Solid, but due to the location of the crag, it is dirty.
