The rock is just off the Forest Ride, above Rothbury. Follow the road up the hillside from opposite the County Hotel at the west end of the main street in Rothbury. Take the 2nd right and after a while a footpath sign points left up a lane, Park in the lane. Follow the path up onto the hillside and up to the radio mast. The rock can be seen in a small wood behind some boulders. If you are walking from Rothbury, go through a narrow alleyway next to the Coop, opposite the phone box. Turn left when you reach the lane and then right (signpost). This path leads up to the hillside as above. 15 minutes.

General:
A rib of rock just under 7 metres high on the hillside overlooking Rothbury, alongside the Forest Ride, just behind the radio mast. The rock is excellent and the climbing isn't bad. It's just that there isn't enough of it. If you are around this bit of the Carriage Drive it's worth taking chalk and boots, particularly as Gimmerknowe is just around the corner..
Rock:
Fell Sandstone Carboniferous, Dinantian
