History:
First records of climbing were by Sir George Trevelyan and friends, including Jack Longland, who used to ride on horseback to the Wanneys from the stately pile at Wallington, stopping off at Ray and Wolf crags en route. There have been sporadic visits by the likes of Gordon Thompson and Malcolm Lowerson, but to date nothing has been documented.
